Summit Platforms’ Snowdon challenge raises £8,133 for Edward’s Trust
Summit Platforms has raised an impressive £8,133 for Edward’s Trust, its 2026 charity partner, following its team challenge to the summit of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon).
The final total represents 155% of the original fundraising target, a result the Summit Platforms team says reflects the generosity of customers, colleagues, partners and supporters across the UK.
Earlier this year, Summit Platforms announced Edward’s Trust as its official charity partner for 2026. The Birmingham-based charity provides vital emotional and practical support to bereaved children, young people and parents, helping families navigate loss at one of the most difficult times in their lives.
On Thursday 11 June, colleagues from all 10 Summit Platforms locations, from Glasgow to Portsmouth, came together to climb Yr Wyddfa, the highest mountain in Wales and England at 1,085 metres. Despite heavy rain, wind and fog at the summit, the team completed the challenge together in support of the charity.
The fundraising effort was supported by a specially branded JCB S2646E scissor lift, painted in Edward’s Trust colours and deployed across Summit’s hire fleet. For 12 months, proceeds from every hire of the machine are being donated directly to the charity.
James Watson, Director at Summit Platforms, said:
“Reaching £8,133 is a fantastic achievement and a real reflection of the effort, generosity and team spirit shown across Summit Platforms.
“Our colleagues tackled some genuinely difficult conditions on Yr Wyddfa, but knowing that every step was helping Edward’s Trust support families through bereavement made it all worthwhile.
“Edward’s Trust does incredible work in our local community, and this donation will help ensure that children, young people and parents facing loss do not have to face it alone.
Thank you to everyone who donated, shared our challenge or supported the team along the way.”
The £8,133 total will help Edward’s Trust continue delivering compassionate, practical support to grieving families, providing a safe and understanding space when it is needed most.
