Summit Platforms Newcastle Gains IPAF PAL+ Accreditation, Expanding Advanced Training to the North East

Summit Platforms is pleased to announce that its Newcastle depot has been officially accredited to deliver IPAF PAL+ training, joining the East Midlands depot in offering this advanced, industry-recognised course.

The accreditation enables customers across the North East to access enhanced powered access training designed for operators working in complex or high-risk environments.

The IPAF PAL+ (Powered Access Licence Plus) programme builds on the standard IPAF operator training, providing experienced MEWP operators with the additional practical skills and safety awareness required for challenging worksites. Following strong demand since the East Midlands launch earlier this year, the addition of PAL+ at Newcastle allows more customers to benefit.

Channon North, Depot Manager at Summit Platforms Newcastle, said:

We’re delighted to bring IPAF PAL+ training to the North East. Many of our customers work on large infrastructure, industrial and maintenance projects that demand the highest standards of safety and operator competence. Having PAL+ available locally means they can upskill their teams right here in the North East.

Offering PAL+ reflects Summit Platforms’ commitment to supporting customers with both quality equipment and professional training. The one-day course involves enhanced theory and practical assessments, focusing on safe operation in restricted spaces, challenging ground conditions, and complex site layouts. PAL+ certification is increasingly recognised across the industry, including by Build UK and major contractors, as the standard for advanced operator competency."

We’ve seen first-hand how PAL+ training gives operators greater confidence when handling equipment in demanding conditions. It helps reduce risk, improve performance, and demonstrate a company’s commitment to safety.”
