Second year of IPAF engineering apprenticeships set to get underway
Summit Platforms is continuing with its IPAF engineering apprenticeship scheme for a second year after a successful first year in 2022.
The scheme provides three years of training on the IPAF Level 3 Lift, Truck and Powered Access Technician course, leading to candidates becoming qualified service engineers.
Summit Platforms is using the programme to develop the engineering talent it needs to maintain high standards of customer service and support the continued growth of the business.
Company Divisional Manager Steve Williams said: “Thanks to the success of the apprenticeship scheme last year and the apprentices moving into year two, we’re opening our doors to new candidates to pursue their engineering career with Summit Platforms.”
The placements are available across all nine of the Summit Platforms depots with those in Bristol, Birmingham, Haydock and London East already successfully filled. By introducing the candidates to the teams early, they have a chance to settle in and get a flavour of what to expect on the course.
There are 5 placements still available at the London West, Portsmouth, Newcastle, Wakefield and Glasgow depots.
Candidates are invited to apply for these placements:
London West
Portsmouth
Newcastle
Wakefield
Glasgow: Please contact the depot directly to apply – All course details can be found here.
Apprentices will attend two-week blocks of structured class and practical training at North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire Hinkley College five times a year, while at all other times working alongside our qualified engineers.
Summit Platforms will ensure its apprentices get valuable workplace training, with excellent opportunities to develop and apply skills, and contribute fully to the success of the engineering team at each depot.
