Summit Platforms opens new centres to boost IPAF training

Summit Platforms is significantly extending the IPAF training offering it provides with the opening of four new training centres across the north of England and Scotland.

The rental company already offers a national training service – now that is being boosted with the opening of the new training centres at its depots in Glasgow, Wakefield, Haydock and Birmingham.

Summit Platforms, Steve Williams said: “This is an exciting development for our national training offering. The new centres will deliver IPAF training to the high standard our clients expect.

“We can support more of our customers training requirements across the country and deliver the full range of IPAF courses at these four new centres, which have comfortable training rooms and plenty of external space for delegates to practice their skills using the powered access equipment.

“We will continue to offer high quality training across the UK at both clients work sites, as well as our own training centres. Our aim, always, is to meet our clients’ specific needs.”

Courses will be delivered across the four new centres by Summit Platforms IPAF Training Instructor James Chambers, who has more than 10 years’ experience of delivering IPAF training.

He said: “I’m looking forward to working with Summit Platforms and its customers to make sure they have all the key skills they need to make the operating of all types of access platforms safe and productive.

“Summit Platforms has a justifiable reputation for the efficiency and quality of its powered access rental services and we aim to make sure the training delivered through these four centres fully reflects those attributes.”

Summit Platforms delivers all categories of IPAF training courses for platform operators, as well as supervisors and managers responsible for overseeing employees using powered access equipment.

IPAF courses delivered include static vertical (1a), static boom (1b), mobile vertical (3a), mobile boom (3b), push around vertical (PAV), harness training (H) and MEWPs for managers (MM).
